Positive: Wonderful location above Getaria village. Walkable into town in 10-15minutes, yet located in a very serene and quiet setting. Beautiful scenery over surrounding hills and farms. Wonderful old world charm, amazing owners - very friendly and helpful. The place has a casual rural character about it, in contrast to polished urban hotels. Make sure you stop in the local Balenciaga museum if you appreciate fashion, and take a walk around the lighthouse hill. The walk to Zarautz over the nearby path of St. James was a wonderful treat, followed by walking back along the waterfront promenade. Very walkable location, don't be deceived by the hills, park your car and enjoy the region!
Negative: As is expected from a rural and rustic setting, expect a bit of natural charm. I might have expected a bit more housekeeping attention, being very nit-picky. If you remember the rustic charm of the location, this fits in perfectly. If you are expecting the care of a top urban hotel, you might be surprised. Small other surprise - the owners live connected to this dwelling, and don't seem to mind turning up local music and singing their hearts out after dinner. If you can live with this regional treat, or the fact that you will share the living areas with another family in the bedroom next door then this places adds the regional charm you might want out of a vacation. Also, you do share the dwelling with an adjacent bedroom. We happened to meet an incredibly engaging Dutch couple and enjoyed the company. Hardly a negative, just be aware of the setting when booking, please expect to be sharing the common areas with someone if both rooms are booked.

Positive: It’s in a lovely area overlooking vineyards and the sea. It’s an old building that the hosts have modernized and they live in one part and let out 2 rooms woth a separate living room area and its own entrance.
Negative: Nothing! You do need to car to drive there though and you have to like being outside the town centre. Having said that we walked to Getaria in 15-20 minutes but then it was raining at night so we got a taxi back.

Positive: Absolutely lovely host family. Miren is very welcoming, tried to help us with everything. Perfect location - 10 minutes to Zarautz, half an hour to San Sebastian, and at the foot of San Anton. Beautiful garden and walking trail. Amazing view
